Thirteen year follow up of long term treated psychotic disorder: Personality aspects

Introduction Psychotic disorders often cause a drastic change in the life situation of affected individual. Personality is an aspect that can affect symptoms and social function psychotic disorders. Objectives No study has examined stability personality traits exceeding five years patients with schizophrenia. The aim this was to investigate over 13-year period among disorder healthy individuals evaluate case-control differences. Methods At three occasions during (n=28) non-psychotic (n=57) completed Swedish universities Scales (SSP). For all within- between-subject analyses were performed at for 13 subscales overall factors SSP. Correlations, means SDs calculated. Results Tests within-subject correlations showed differences two subscales: Lack Assertiveness, which influenced by age Physical Trait Aggression, where ratings stable, whereas controls rated themselves less aggressive higher age. Between-subjects regarding any parameters diagnosis, time, age, gender or x nine as well factor Neuroticism. Conclusions Long term follow-up generally high measured SSP, especially patients. Between-subject differed compared SSP Neuroticism subscale Detachment, accordance previous studies.
